Getting Started:
You will need some tools to help you with getting your project started. We recommend collecting the following.
- Multi file folder for magazine cut outs or photo’s of your ideas.
- Graph paper with a sketch of your design idea.
- 25’ measuring tape, but most will do.
- Note book for your notes.
Here are some important questions and information for you to think about which will help you to reach your goal.
- What is my budget for this project?
- Do I want to remove and replace, or reconfigure?
- What do I presently like and dislike?
- Will the changes I desire require an electrician or plumber?
- What date would you like to have your project completed?
- Normally a specific building product can better agree with the existing design and condition. Allow us to make some suggestions that can save you money.
- Know that a color scheme (i.e. tile & grout) will end up looking like at the finish and how it can positively or negatively affect the room.
- Usually appliances, furniture or toilets will need to be moved or installed.
- Sometimes there are unforeseen necessary repairs. I.E. When a sink cabinet is removed there is water damage behind the sink cabinet. Or when a floor is removed there is sub-floor rot underneath.
- The job site will be a construction site during the remodeling process. Precautions will be taken to minimize dust etc. We will work with you as much as possible to keep the environment as livable as necessary if needed.
- Material status can sometimes be a delay. I.E. we have everything but the base boards are on back order, so we can get started but we can’t finish the job until……
- The crew will need to be able to access the jobsite as scheduled. Sometimes the jobsite availability is overlooked by our customer. Please make all necessary arrangements for us to access the job site as scheduled.
- Communicate and follow through with any other concerns that affect the job. I.E. delays due to unexpected lack of product, or perhaps conflict with the coordination of other contractors needed for the completion of the job.
- Communicate how any changes on the original work order must be done a.s.a.p. to avoid possible delays. Also if there are any changes, the original work order must be revised and resigned.
